AI answering service for towing companies

Never lose a tow to voicemail again

An AI dispatcher that picks up when your crew can't — nights, weekends, while everyone's on a hook. It gets the vehicle, the location, and the destination, quotes the job, and hands your dispatcher a clean ticket.

A towing call that goes to voicemail is usually a call that goes to the next company on the list. The fix isn't a bigger answering service reading from a script — it's a line that actually understands towing: where the car is, where it's going, whether it rolls, and what the job costs.

At Athena Towing, the main line rings a human first. If nobody picks up, the AI takes the call, works the job out, quotes it, and puts it in front of the crew. Customers can also text for a quote. It's built around the way your shop already runs — your rates, your service area, your dispatch software — not a generic template.

Step by step

How the AI dispatcher works, and what it connects to

  1. A customer calls your main line

Your main line rings the office phone first, then every crew phone at once. Each leg is screened, so a driver's voicemail picking up doesn't end the call. The call just keeps moving.

  2. Nobody can grab it, so the AI answers

Nights, weekends, or everyone on a hook. It answers in a natural voice, as your company, 24/7. If the main AI provider ever fails mid-call, a backup from a different vendor takes over.

  3. It works the job like a dispatcher

Vehicle, whether it rolls, the pickup, the destination, and a callback number. Addresses are checked and far pickups are read back, so the truck goes to the right place.

  4. It quotes from your real rates

Hook fee, mileage, and your pricing rules are calculated in code from real road distances. The AI only reads the result out, so it can't invent a price.

  5. The job lands in Towbook

A booked call becomes a Towbook job with the details filled in. Web and text leads go the same way.

  6. Your team sees it in team chat

Every new lead, booked job, missed call, and handoff request posts to your dispatch channel. Your dispatcher can also type a job in plain English there, get a priced quote back, and tap to send the invoice or create the Towbook job.

  7. A human whenever it matters

If a caller asks for a person or a manager, or the job is out of the ordinary, the AI hands off and the team gets paged.

  8. The customer is never left hanging

If no driver has claimed the job in 15 minutes, the customer gets a text with options to keep waiting or cancel. Drivers who haven't accepted get reminder calls.

  9. Texts work the same way

Customers can text your line. They get one standard reply and an offer of an instant AI quote, and your team answers the rest from a private inbox on their phones (phone-number login, roster-gated).

  10. Everything is recorded and reviewed

Calls are recorded and transcribed, scored by an automated quality check every day, and summarized in the owner's brief. Watchdogs flag dead air, stuck calls, and phones that keep missing.

Questions

Will the AI replace my dispatcher?
No. It catches the calls your people can't get to and gives them a clean ticket. Your dispatcher still runs the board.
Does it make up prices?
It shouldn't be able to. Quotes are calculated from your rates and distances in code, and the AI reads out the result — it doesn't do the math itself.
What phone system does it need?
A business number on a cloud phone provider, in your name and on your account. At Athena it replaced a phone-software subscription. We cover what you have today on the free call.
Is this the same as TowPilot or similar products?
Those are subscriptions you rent. This runs on your own server and phone account, built around your rates and crew, and you own it outright.
