Google Ads for towing companies

Ads that learn which calls make you money

Your ad account synced with your dispatch software and your books, so you know exactly what every ad dollar returned, and Google gets each job's profit to bid on.

Google Ads optimizes for whatever you tell it counts. Most tow companies tell it a phone call counts, so it buys you calls: the wrong numbers, the price shoppers, the jobs outside your area. And the reports in the ad account can't tell you which calls became paid tows, let alone which ones made money after the driver and the diesel.

At Athena Towing, the system closes that loop. Every ad call is traced to the Towbook job it became, every job is valued by its real profit, and that profit goes back to Google every day. The owner gets a straight answer on ROI, and Google gets a clear picture of what a good customer looks like.

Step by step

How the ads loop works

  1. Every ad call is traced to a job

Google's record of each call from your ads is matched to your own phone log, down to the second, and then to the Towbook job that came out of it. Calls from the ad's call button, taps on your website, and form leads are all tracked separately.

  2. Every job is valued by profit, not just price

The tow price minus the driver's commission under your real pay rules, the dispatcher fee, and your truck cost per mile, calculated from your own fuel, maintenance, and repair spend. A $300 long tow and a $95 jump start are no longer worth the same to Google.

  3. Real ROI, by channel

Ad spend and job revenue lined up on the same dates, each job counted once, broken out by call button, website, form, and organic. You see true net after commissions and truck costs, and the break-even ad cost per job, not a vanity return number.

  4. Profit goes back to Google every day

Closed jobs are uploaded to your ad account with their profit value, matched to the call that produced them. With value-based bidding, Google can optimize for profitable jobs instead of any call. Small accounts take weeks to learn.

  5. Leaks get caught

A daily audit flags ad calls that sounded like a booked job but never made it into Towbook, jobs with no customer phone, and ad calls missing from the phone log. Fix the record once and it flows to payroll and to Google.

  6. Unbooked ad callers become a callback list

Callers from your ads who didn't book are listed with a summary of the call. Calling them back is the cheapest growth there is: you already paid for that click.

  7. Wasted spend gets cut

Search terms are swept for junk and blocked with negative keywords, a click-fraud shield and a monthly spend cap guard the budget, and a watchdog checks that your tracking tags actually fire.

  8. Decisions come from your own numbers

Which hours to run, which towns to target, when to change bidding and when to leave it alone so Google can learn, all from your account's own results instead of generic benchmarks.

Straight answers

Questions

Will this make my ads profitable?
It tells you the truth about them first, which most shops have never had. From there the wins are usually booking more of the calls you already pay for, cutting the hours and searches that never pay, and letting Google bid on profit. Small accounts give Google fewer jobs to learn from, so expect weeks, not days.
Does it work with dispatch software other than Towbook?
Towbook is what runs at Athena today. Other dispatch apps can be connected to order; the ads loop needs the job, the customer's phone, the price, and the miles.
Do I have to run ads?
No. Plenty of shops live on motor-club work. If you do run ads, this is how you stop paying for calls that never become jobs.
Who owns the ad account?
You do. The system works in your account with access you grant and can revoke.
